Thanks for stopping by

The time has come for me to share the incredible experience that the BTG Crew and I had at the Belmond Charleston Place, located in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina. We spent 3 days shooting with two photographers and a great crew! I have come up with a 5 part feature of the hotel to highlight its great outlets and great service.

As we pulled up the driveway, we were greeted by the signature horse fountain, Quadriga, located in the porte cochère entrance of the Belmond Charleston Place. The valet, Clayton, immediately welcomed us to the hotel while the bellman assisted with unloading our luggage. Clayton walked us into the lobby and introduced us to Suzanne at the front desk. Suzanne welcomed us again, told us about our suite, and gave us a brief orientation of the hotel. The check-in process of the hotel truly shows southern hospitality to any guest that walks through the door.

After checking in, Suzanne introduced us to our bellman, Lucas, who helped us to our room. On the way up to our suite, Lucas, took the time find out a little about us and the reason behind our visit. Once we got to our suite, Lucas, showed us around the suite and even brought us ice to enjoy a cold beverage before getting to work.

Once settled into our suite, we ventured to the lobby to scout our photoshoot locations and set up shots. Off the elevators and into the lobby again, the Belmond Charleston Place was ready for the holidays with trees, lights, a train set, and their iconic chandelier. The hand-blown Venetian chandelier is the focal point of the lobby. Set between a Georgian open arm staircase, who wouldn’t stare at the 3,000 pieces of glass dangling from the ceiling?! During the Christmas season, they set up a very detail oriented train set with a replica of one of the other products in the Belmond Collection, the Orient Express Train.

As we ventured through the lobby of the hotel, we passed the concierge and the three restaurants before venturing into the Shops at Belmond Charleston Place. I must admit, not having to leave the hotel for shopping is definitely a plus for guests. The shops include famous names like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Tommy Bahama, the Art of Shaving, Sunglass Hut, Kate Spade, Godiva Chocolatier, and so many more! If the shops at Belmond Charleston Place aren’t enough for you, out their King Street Entrance, is Charleston’s Fashion District! With the hotel being located in the center of downtown, there are shops out any of the hotel’s four exits.

Later on in the afternoon, we ventured to the hotel’s fourth floor. On this floor, a guest will find the hotel’s pool, spa, and fitness center. First, we entered the Spa at Belmond Charleston Place and were greeted by Brandon who was glad to give us a tour and tell us about the many services they offer. The lobby of the Spa is soothing and puts you in a very tranquil state, preparing any guest for a relaxing time. When Brandon started telling us about everything they had to offer, I was surprised to hear that the Spa offered basically anything you could think of! The Spa services include body treatments, massages, skin care (they have a 24-Karat Gold facial. WHAT), hand & foot therapy, treatments for men, and they even offer services for the kids to enjoy the Spa! Oh, and lets not forget about the incredible products that they offer for their guests.

Brandon then took us to the newly renovated fitness center. Full of top of the line equipment and great amenities. Forgot your water? or maybe you didn’t have time for your protein before/after your workout? The fitness center has you covered with water bottles, fresh towels, fresh fruit, and even yogurt with a granola option. After your workout, head to their 50 foot salt water pool located under a full glass roof. What’s so cool about this pool area? On a hot summer day, the glass roof retracts to enjoy the weather and during the winter, the roof is closed and the temperature is bumped up for guest to still enjoy the facilities. The jacuzzi area also features a great mural. If you’re not quite ready to leave the fourth floor area, one can enjoy a great gourmet lunch around the pool or on the rooftop. Before heading out, a guest can enjoy the lavish locker rooms for more relaxation time in the dry saunas before showering and wrapping up in one of the plush bathrobes. While the hotel is in the middle of busy downtown Charleston, the fourth floor is the perfect place to get away.0

Once we forced ourselves to leave the pampering fourth floor, we headed back up to the sixth floor to finally enjoy a little bit of our suite…

Come back tomorrow to see our lavish accommodations, a Luxury Premier Suite, and personalized welcome gifts in part two of our Belmond Charleston Place feature!
